Yoga for Chronic Health Conditions

"My physical therapist at Group Health recommended yoga therapy, and Cyndi re-introduced me to the yoga I love. We worked five months together, and in that time, she has respected my disabilities and my fatigue. She has helped me learn to modify poses and to learn what is possible in my body. She gave me poses to do at home that helped me to center physically, emotionally, and spiritually. She helped me learn to breathe in a way that helps with fatigue and balance."

People living with chronic health conditions can feel intimidated by finding an appropriate way to exercise, and may feel hesitant to resume old exercising routines after they have been diagnosed with a health condition. I have worked with individuals affected by a variety of health conditions, including MS, Parkinson's, ALS, cancer, spinal cord injuries, Fibromyalgia, diabetes, and obesity. I am skilled at assessing a student's ability level, what types of movement will be helpful for their condition, and what specific supports they will need to be successful.
If you have a chronic health condition, I can work with you individually or in a group class to help you find safe ways of moving your body.
I currently teach two group classes - Yoga for Autoimmune conditions and Yoga for MS - that address specific health conditions.
I am also skilled at working with individuals after they have received a diagnosis of a chronic condition, and can work as part of a person's healthcare team in helping a person adapt to their condition and find healthy ways of living in harmony with their condition.
