Yoga for Chronic Pain

"Cyndi, I just wanted to say how much I appreciate working with you. I felt so very wonderful after you left yesterday...
I think I get the most benefit from all the stretching you do on my spine, since I’m sitting all of the time and it gets squished.

If you suffer with chronic pain, a gentle yoga practice can allow you to find ways to move your body that work for you. People living with chronic pain often give up on exercise and limit their movement as much as possible, which can exacerbate their limitations, and establish a vicious circle of not moving and exercising. Learning to breathe in specific ways can help with chronic pain. Sitting or moving meditation is another approach that many people find helpful in relating with chronic pain. When done regularly, yoga poses can increase flexibility and strength and reduce fatigue. I have extensive experience and training in adapting yoga poses so that everyone can find a successful way of moving their body, and teach students to use props to support their bodies. My classes and sessions offer students with chronic pain a gentle, nurturing, and empowering space in which to find authentic ways to move their bodies, and find healing within their conditions.
